About Me
General
I am a philosophy graduate student and graduate teaching assistant (GTA) in the terminal MA program at the University of Florida.
I received my Bachelors degree (cum laude) from the University of Florida in 2023 with a major in philosophy and minor in history. I spent a year in the University Scholars Program where I received a 2-semester grant to do bioethical research with Dr. Molly Gardner, focusing on theories of harming in relation to environmental ethics and de-extinction.
In between graduation and grad school I spent a semester as a full time substitute teacher in Alachua County, Florida.
Research Interests
My primary areas of interest are in philosophy of biology, philosophy of psychology, philosophy of language, and cognitive science. I am also keen on continuing to work in applied ethics, epistemology, and Wittgenstein.
There are also a host of scientific subjects relating to biology, psychology, and cognition that I am interested in both independently as well as in relation to philosophy of science. These include: evolutionary psychology, phenotypic plasticity, behavioral ecology of primates, and functional anthropology/paleoanthropology.
Public Philosophy
I have a YouTube channel where I interview professional philosophers about their research. Past guests include Graham Oppy, Michael Huemer, Dustin Crummett, and Eric Steinhart, as well as others.
I also make lecture and informational style videos on various arguments and concepts in philosophy such as the kripkenstein paradox, foundationalism, epidemiological ethics, conspiracy theories, etc.
If you would be interested in making an appearance feel free to reach out via my email below ! Guests are not limited to professionals or even to philosophers.
Other
When I am not doing academic work I enjoy more recreational reading and writing, playing/watching basketball, hiking, horror movies, atmospheric black metal, bar hopping, role-playing games (video and tabletop), and playing/watching chess, to name a few. I most enjoy spending time with my girlfriend and our two snakes.
